Oh.My.God.
Golliwog is racist, it’s another example of a word that was always used with racist/negative connotations, so it can’t go back now. I don’t think anyone knows why – its one of those senseless things racists dreamed up as a name-calling device.
If they claim it’s NOT racist then why are they even selling golliwog/”black doll”-branded items? What does it have to do with a political party?! Why not just England flags or Morris dancer mugs or something??
Edit: incidentally Golliwog is where the insult “WOG” comes from – another meaningless, general insult aimed not just at black & Asian people but also anyone looking vaguely “ethnic” – I have an italian friend who says he was called wog repeatedly all through school, how bizarre is that? Just shows how dumb the racists are

Tom your talking rubbish again…..a golly has nothing to do with being racist at all…..I had GOLLY as a young girl I passed it on to my daughter now she has passed it on to her daughter…..so in actual fact your calling me my daughter and granddaughter racist….how dare you… I am utterly sick of you going on about the BNP being racist …it strikes me as you being the one that is racist continually putting them down all the time …go and find somebody else to call…you are one of the most boring racist people I have ever come across …. I do now belong to the BNP and bloody proud to be as well…..like I have said before I am a decent clean living person and I have sons and daughters who have been to university and all hard workers….your probably half there age … I must add who have also served in the forces …there real men …now go and get a life and stop coming on here with your same old boring racist questions…

You know Tom, I know you think I’m a racist but I’m beginning to believe that you really understand what racism is. Seems I’ve been around a few more days in my live and have seen it and experienced it for a few decades longer. You are beginning to sound as though you are racist against white people no matter the nationality. Ok. The BNP do have some racist sounding policies, I agree. I don’t support the BNP in those but do support them in wanting to clean up the country and get it back to running the way it is supposed to. I won’t necessarily vote BNP but will vote whatever independent runs against my sitting MP. All our politicians discriminate positively against the white person like in the police etc. Also gender as with more women MPs. Now that is racism and they admit it. What is the difference. They are trying to force their thoughts and ideals on us and that is wrong. To use racism like that is the worst racism you can have. It makes a mockery out of the things genuine people who are trying to get rid of the racism from both sides out of the community. To be quite honest with you it is people like you that want to be politically correct who cause more problems than the BNP ever can.
I’m sorry if this offends you but you need to grow and see the truth from both sides. If you really want to see racism then walk through the streets of one of the enclaves these people build for themselves where white people aren’t allowed and even the police call no go areas until the community gets tired of the way they are acting and demand a stop is put to it. I feel for the white, black, and asian older people who are all usually born british citizens and are afraid to come out of their homes as these sort of people frighten the life out of them. They aren’t well enough off to sell up and move so have to live with it. Being spat on (usually a muslim) as you walk down the street you have lived in for all your life and your life threatened if you don’t stay out of their area is daunting for most people wouldn’t you think. Don’t believe it happens? Go to Peterborough and try it in those areas and you will be able to see it first hand I guarantee it.

The whole point of the adoption of golly memorabilia is that for years and years it was an accepted part of Robinson’s Jam advertising. It became a much loved toy, even collectors loved the badges and the robinson golly bands. you used to have to save up labels to get them…..The Golly offended no one. It caused no upset what so ever and yet it became one of the first victims of the PC nightmare. Gollys were actually baned from toy shops AND, for a time, So were black dolls, another traditional British child’s toy. Its the extremely SMALL tiny teeny little ,rather empty minds that pick on this kind of trivia and blow it out of all proportion. INTERESTINGLY it was Black people that demanded Black dolls be put back into the market…..Did you know that there is a move to ban Islamic female dolls, yet if you go to north Africa the Islamic market traders are selling them to tourists by the thousands every day…..Would you now support the idea of making it illegal to own one? its all a lot of nonsense really isn’t it….Well for normal people that is.(((HA HA well done labour voter.)))
