Does The Obama Campaign Hope The Stock Market Doesn’t Rebound Too Much Before The Election?

Since the down economy and the slumping stock market seem to be his biggest talking points. Do you think that maybe Obama believes that a week-long rebound could hurt him in the election?

Not only will it hurt him from an issue point of view, but he knows that the market will rise again and he wants to be the one to take credit for it. Even if he is not sworn in yet, he will still profess that due to the anticipation of his administration is the cause of the markets growth. Why not, Clinton took credit for the growth of the economy when he took office.

No, the stock market is so volatile right now that nobody is going to look at all the fluctuations and read anything into it regarding their choice for prez. Also, the stock market is only one indicator of how the economy is doing. Jobs, housing, the price of consumer goods…
those are all more important indicators.
The only drastic event prior to the election that would shake up the whole scenario is probably an Al Queda attack on our soil….the
infamous “October Surprise”. Given that it hasn’t happened as of 10/30, I’m guessing it won’t.

No doubt that the contracting economy has helped Obama in his campaign. Historically whenever this has happened in the past, power changes hands in Washington.

Yes. Bad news is good news when the other party is in the WH.
My prediction if Obama is elected: Dow down 1,000 points. Watch and learn.

I think its pretty disgusting that the DNC is apparently capitalizing on the pain and suffering of people.

When Bush’s rescue plan appears to be working he won’t be able to use Bush bashing against McCain anymore.

I think he would want it the most.

This is a house of cards based on writing more rubber checks.
Don’t worry – it will crash for real soon enough.

Impossible George W. Bush did such a great job we won’t have to worry about that.
